MODICO’s new showroom at Indonesia Design District, PIK 2, skips the usual furniture-on-a-floor layout. Glass, painted walls, metal, and a mix of textures and finishes run through the space, each area holding its own character while the whole thing still reads as one place rather than a series of separate rooms.

Materials here carry weight beyond backdrop duty. Where they sit, how they’re finished, what they’re paired with, all of it changes how a piece of furniture gets read once it’s placed inside the room.
Eight collaborators built the showroom alongside MODICO: Stuccoverni, Roxyglass, Magnus Aluminium, NURCO, ABCON, LTECH, Moire Bespoke Rugs, and Meglio Collection, covering surface finishes, glass, aluminum, curtain systems, lighting, bespoke rugs, and additional furniture. None of it was built separately and then assembled. The interior depends on these pieces sitting against each other.
MODICO frames this as a statement about how it wants its furniture seen: alongside light, material, and architecture, rather than on its own. Indonesia Design District itself houses more than 200 brands across furniture, interiors, and design, and MODICO IDD is the company’s entry into that wider mix.ise.
