Design Diary International was launched with one clear ambition: to build a publication that gives equal attention to the most established names in global architecture and design and to the talent the world has not yet discovered and to do both with the same depth, the same honesty, and the same editorial standard that the work deserves.
We do not chase press releases or wait for the story to come to us. Our editorial team actively seeks out designers, architects, studios, and projects worth talking about, across websites, studios, social platforms, and conversations that happen far outside the usual channels of the design press. The work worth covering is rarely the work that arrives already packaged for publication, and our readers know that what they find in these pages has been chosen because it is genuinely worth their time, not because someone paid for the placement or sent the right email at the right moment.
Seventy percent of our coverage is international. The remaining thirty percent is rooted in India, a country whose architectural and design culture is among the most diverse, most historically layered, and most underrepresented in the global design conversation. The editorial perspective that connects both transcends any single geography, because the work we find most interesting does so as well.
Our interviews are not celebrations. They are conversations, built around real questions about why decisions were made, what went wrong, what the designer would do differently, and what they actually believe about the discipline they have chosen to spend their life in. The designers and architects who speak to us know we will ask the direct question. They come anyway, because a publication that engages with the work seriously is worth talking to, and because the design community, for all its relationship with self-promotion, ultimately respects honesty more than flattery.
We cover the most recognized practices in architecture and interior design alongside studios that the wider industry has not yet found but will. We feature enduring product designers, overlooked material traditions, and cross-disciplinary ideas that represent the most compelling thinking in design today. Every piece that appears in these pages is here because the editorial team decided it was worth covering. That decision is made independently of any commercial consideration and always will be.
Since our launch, Design Diary International has grown to reach readers in 75 countries across every continent, a number that grows with every issue we publish. We cover architecture, interiors, product design, materials, and the art of living. We publish nine issues a year in digital format, available on this website and on Magzter.
Our ambition is without limit. We want to reach every corner of the world where serious design is being made and where serious readers want to engage with it properly. We are a long way into that journey and nowhere near the end of it.
