Design Diary International follows editorial principles that guide our publishing decisions, writing style, and engagement with featured individuals and organizations. These principles are not guidelines. They are the conditions under which this publication exists and the commitments we make to every reader who spends time with our work.
What we cover and why
Every project, interview, material story, essay, and product feature published in Design Diary International is here because the editorial team decided it belonged here. We do not publish work because it arrived with a large press kit or because the person who sent it has a significant following or advertising budget. We publish work because it is worth the attention of our readers, and that decision is made on editorial grounds alone, every time, without exception.
We cover completed work. We cover real conversations with real practitioners who are willing to speak honestly about their practice. We cover materials, craft traditions, and ideas that deserve more serious engagement than the design press typically gives them. We cover completed projects, client news, and concepts that inform and engage.
We verify every factual claim in every piece we publish before it goes live. Where information is contested or uncertain, we say so explicitly rather than presenting one version of events as established fact. Where we make errors, we correct them promptly, transparently, and without quietly amending published content in a way that obscures the fact that a correction has been made. If you believe something we have published is factually incorrect, we want to know. Write to us at designdiaryinternational@gmail.com, and we will investigate and respond.
Commercial content
Any content produced in a commercial partnership with a brand, studio, or organization is clearly identified as commercial content and is kept entirely distinct from our independent editorial. Commercial partners are not entitled to direct, review, approve, or veto editorial content about their work or about the wider industry. The line between editorial and commercial content is clear and always upheld.
Final authority
All editorial decisions rest with the Founder of Design Diary International. No external party, including advertisers, commercial partners, interview subjects, or any other individual or organization, is entitled to approve, amend, or veto any editorial content published by this publication.
